Dehradun Innova Tragedy: Families Appeal for Truth Amid Rumors and Speculation

Dehradun Innova accident: Declaring Siddhesh, the only survivor among six youngsters killed in the Dehradun car accident a minor, speaking to India Today TV channel, Vipin Agarwal requested the public and the media not to believe in rumors.

In the public appeal, Vipin said, “It is about time that the public stop reporting he said she said and jumping to conclusions and speculating about the events that led to the tragedy.”

Calling for operations to embrace the people, the father said, “We have lost six children.” Such is the devastating state of anguish of these six children’s families that we can in no way overcome it. Privately, the former asked: “We currently have one child in ICU and he is on the ventilator.”

Today there is an investigation already going on, the truth is out there. Kindly do not believe these rumors,” he said followed by statements that some members of the group were allegedly drinking before the accident.

So far, none of the medical reports or autopsy has stated that the person consumed alcohol.

The appeal is filed by Siddhesh’s father at a time as other rumors surround the Dehradun accident involving alcohol and a street race with a BMW car.

There is a viral social media post that, before boarding the car, the youths were dancing and drinking alcohol; the car then knocked a container then exploded, killing six of the seven passengers. This was demonstrated by a video of people having a party, however, the police have not stated that the video covers the victims.

The authenticity of the video could not be independently verified by HT.com as well.

Another claim was that the Toyota Innova car was racing on the street with another car, a BMW car on the route. He added that Wang’s luxury car swept past the victims’ car, “hurting the driver’s ego,” and he began driving fast. Nevertheless, this was dismissed by the police by merely watching the CCTV of the area that the youngsters had taken into consideration.

Other rumors were that the victims were bent over the window or the sunroof with their heads out when the car was speeding, causing the decapitation of two of them. However, to the best of my knowledge, there has been no substantiation of this speculation. These head injuries are thought to be caused by high impact of the crash.
